Merging Shopify Patterns
If you sell the same pattern on multiple selling channels (Shopify, Ravelry, Etsy, Gosadi, etc.), they will appear on GoSadi as separate and individual patterns when you first import them. This is because each selling channel treats your pattern as unique to them. GoSadi, therefore, imports each pattern according to the selling channel’s unique pattern ID. Rather than having duplicate patterns (one per selling channel) in your GoSadi Product Library after import, you can merge them into one product to manage everything in one place. This saves time and keeps your pattern details consistent across all channels.
What is Pattern Merging?
Pattern merging combines multiple listings of the same pattern across different selling channels into one product in GoSadi. This lets you:
Manage one pattern across all selling channels from one location (GoSadi)
Keep consistent details, pricing, and files across channels
Resolve conflicts (like different titles, descriptions, or publication dates) in one place
Share one product link that routes customers to all available versions
Start the Merge Process
1. Go to Product Library
2. Find patterns you want to merge (same pattern on different channels)
3. Click the checkbox to the left of each pattern name you want to merge
4. Click the Merge These Products button
NOTE: This feature is great if you're selling patterns on Shopify or other selling channels and also have a free version on your blog (or elsewhere).
Resolve Conflicts
During the merge, GoSadi shows you any conflicts between the versions. Common conflicts include:
Title (different names across channels)
Publish date (different dates)
Description for the DLP
For each conflict, decide which version you want to use.
1. Review the conflicting information
2. Select the version you prefer
NOTE: The version you pick will be the one that appears on your GoSadi DLP. You’ll have the chance to update pattern information per selling channel on each Selling Channel tab before finalizing the merge.
3. Move to the next conflict
4. Continue until all conflicts are resolved
IMPORTANT: GoSadi only shows you conflicts, not all information. You'll see only the items that need your attention.
Photo Recommendations
Photos should be consistent across channels, but there are best practices:
1. Use Etsy photos as your primary photos (they have the highest resolution)
2. Remove non-Etsy, duplicate photos
3. Add the same Etsy photos to your other selling channels
This ensures quality and consistency while keeping one master set of images.
Consolidate Your Files
When merging, if you notice multiple PDF pattern files, you'll want to consolidate them to one.
BEST PRACTICE: Use one master file, that is not your Etsy file, across all selling channels. Do not use different files for different channels.
1. Review your files across all channels
2. Decide which non-Etsy file to use as your master
3. Remove duplicate files
4. Use the same file for all selling channels
Complete the Merge Setup
Before finalizing the merge, make final adjustments needed for each channel.
Pattern Details Tabs:
Nitty Gritty (needle size, yarn, gauge, etc.)
Attributes (skills, techniques, construction details)
Other pattern info tabs
Include images, files, pricing, description, etc. on each Selling Channel tab:
DLP (Designer Landing Page)
Ravelry
Etsy
Shopify
Any other connected channels
Finalize the Merge
1. Review all details and Selling Channel tabs
2. Make sure files and images are uploaded to each selling channel
3. Click Merge at the top
GoSadi processes the merge and provides confirmations as it syncs across all your selling channels.
After the Merge
Once merged, you have one product to manage.
1. Go to Product Library
2. Find your merged pattern
a. Notice that all Selling Channel icons are in the Selling Channels column
3. Click on it to see that all selling channels appear in one place on your Pattern Page
4. Any updates you make apply to that product once you sync it to all channels
Share Your Merged Pattern
When sharing your pattern with customers and community:
1. Copy the product link from your Product Library
2. Share that single link
3. Customers see all available options (free version, Etsy, Shopify, Ravelry, etc.)
4. They can choose where they want to purchase or access it
Set Up Your DLP for Merged Patterns
When a pattern has multiple versions (free blog + paid channels), use your Designer Landing Page to show customers the options.
1. Go to your Designer Landing Page (DLP) Profile
2. Set up logos for each version so customers know what they're getting

Other channel logos if needed
3. Customers see all available options to buy or get your pattern
