Host a Make-A-Long on GoSadi

Make-A-Longs (MALs) let you host crafting events where makers work on your pattern together.  GoSadi makes it easy for makers to join your MAL, track their progress, and share their makes with the community.  As the designer, you can see all participants and their projects in one place - on GoSadi.

Prepare Your Pattern for a MAL

Before launching your MAL, make sure your pattern is published on GoSadi.

1. Navigate to your pattern on GoSadi

2. Verify it's published and available on your selling channels (Ravelry, Etsy, GoSadi, etc.)

NOTE:  Makers can purchase your pattern or use a free version during the MAL, depending on what you offer.

How Makers Join Your MAL

Your makers will follow these steps to join:

Create a New Project

1. Navigate to Create New Project in their Maker Library

2. Enter a project name (e.g., "My New Make-A-Long" or whatever they choose)

3. Type your pattern name in the search field

4. Select the correct pattern from the results

Add Project Details

a. Type the yarn name and select from results

b. Enter the number of skeins needed

2. Review the needle size and gauge (auto-populated from your pattern)

3. Add public notes (visible to everyone in the MAL)

a. These might include responses to MAL questions, prize entries, or progress updates

4. Add private notes (only visible to themselves)

a. Personal reminders or notes they want to keep private

Enable Sharing Options

1. Sync to Ravelry (optional but recommended)

a. Check the Sync to Ravelry box if they want their project on Ravelry during the MAL

2. Share the project publicly (required for MAL participation)

a. This allows their project to appear on your pattern's MAL page

3. Click Create Project

The project moves to their WIPs and appears on your pattern's MAL page!

View MAL Participants

As makers join your MAL, you can see their projects on your pattern page.

When Makers Complete the MAL

When a maker finishes your pattern:

2. They add completion notes (e.g., "Loved this shawl!")
