Testers Share Your Test Projects On GoSadi

When you test a pattern for a designer, you can create a project on GoSadi that will automatically link to the designer's pattern once it's published. This helps build visibility for the pattern and showcases your test work.

Create a Test Project

Set Up Your Test Project

1. Navigate to Create New Project

2. Enter a project name (e.g., "Tester Demo" or whatever you'd like to call it)

3. Leave the Pattern Name and Designer fields blank

Important: Do not fill in Pattern Name or Designer while testing. You'll add this information after the pattern is published.

4. Select the craft type (knitting, crochet, etc.)

5. Add your yarn information:

  • Yarn name

  • Yardage or weight

  • Number of skeins needed

Add Your Testing Notes

1. Add Public Notes for information you want to share.

a. These notes will be visible to others once the pattern is published

2. Add Private Notes for feedback to the designer

a. Examples: "Let designer know about Row 3", "Math question", "Question about bind-off"

b. Private notes remain hidden from the public

Choose Sharing Options

1. Check Sync to Ravelry if you want your test project to appear on Ravelry

2. Check Share publicly if you want your project visible on your maker page during testing

a. This is optional - ask your designer if they want test projects shared publicly

3. Click Create Project

View Your Test Project

If you made your project public, you can view it on your maker profile.

1. Navigate to your Maker Profile

2. Your test project appears under what you're currently working on

3. Public notes are visible; private notes remain hidden

Link Your Project After Pattern Publication

Once the designer publishes the pattern and notifies you, link your test project to the published pattern.

Add the Pattern Name

1. Navigate to your test project in WIPs

2. Click Update Project

3. In the Pattern Name field, type the published pattern name

4. Select the correct pattern from the search results

5. The designer and pattern photo will automatically populate

Complete or Save Your Project

1. Choose whether to:

  • Save Project Details if you're still working on it

  • Complete Project if you've finished testing

2. Click your choice

Your project is now linked to the designer's pattern!

View Your Linked Project

1. Navigate to your Finished Objects (if completed) or WIPs (if still in progress)

2. Your project now shows the pattern name and designer

3. If you synced to Ravelry, the project also appears in your Ravelry projects

How Your Project Appears on the Pattern Page

After linking:

1. Your test project appears on the designer's pattern page under Who Made This

2. Other makers can see your work when browsing the pattern

3. If synced to Ravelry, your project appears in the pattern's Ravelry projects
