Creating Your New Project in GoSadi
You can create projects from patterns in your queue or patterns you love. You can even start a project for a pattern that isn't on GoSadi yet. GoSadi lets you search for any pattern, pull in the details automatically, customize it, and sync it to Ravelry.
Start a New Project
1. Navigate to Create a New Project
2. Start typing the pattern name in the search field
3. Select the pattern from the search results
4. GoSadi automatically pulls in:
Pattern photo
Designer name
Craft type (knitting, crochet, etc.)
Yarn called for in the pattern
Suggested needles
Gauge information
Customize Your Yarn
You can use the pattern's suggested yarn or substitute your own.
To Use Different Yarn:
1. Click the trash can icon next to the pattern's suggested yarn to remove it
2. Click Edit or Add Yarn
3. Search for your yarn by typing the name
4. Select your yarn from the results
5. Repeat to add multiple yarns if needed
EXAMPLE: If you're making a sweater with two yarns like Asylum Fibers Sparkle DK and Daft DK, add both to your project.
Add Needles and Gauge
1. Review the suggested needles
2. Edit if you're using different needles
3. The pattern's gauge is automatically included
Add Photos (Optional)
1. Click Upload Photos
2. Add photos of your yarn, inspiration, or project progress
3. Or skip this step and add photos later as you work
Add Private Notes
1. Scroll to the Private Notes section
2. Add any reminders or notes to yourself about the project
NOTE: Private notes are only visible to you and won't be shared publicly.
Sync to Ravelry (Optional)
1. Check the box Sync to Ravelry if you want the project to appear in your Ravelry projects
2. Leave it unchecked if you only want the project in GoSadi
Create Your Project
1. Click Create Project
2. Your project is now created and added to your WIPs
Name Your Project
After creating the project, give it a custom name.
1. Click on My New Project at the top
2. Enter a custom name (e.g., "Michele's Mello Mood")
3. Click Save
Your project now has a personalized name!
View Your Project
1. Navigate to WIPs to see your new project
2. If you synced to Ravelry, check your Ravelry projects page
3. Your project will show:
Your custom project name
The pattern it's based on
Your chosen yarns
Private notes
All pattern details
Link to the designer
