GoSadi Clubs Feature Set-up and Tips
Creating and Managing Clubs in GoSadi
Clubs bring your community together in one place, whether you're a designer, blogger, indie dyer, or festival organizer. Any paid GoSadi account can host a club, and you can host as many as you can moderate.
About GoSadi Clubs
You can start a club for any craft or topic. Some ideas:
• A Stitch Club, Knit Club, Crochet Club, or Coffee Club
• A club for your books, patterns, or designs
• A community club for your blog's readers
• An event club where people meet and connect
• A business club for designers, indie dyers, or festival organizers
Clubs are available on the web-based platform, which you can also use on your phone or mobile device. They're also one of the first community features coming to the GoSadi app.
NOTE: You're responsible for moderating every club you host, so make sure you can keep up with each one.
Find a Club to Join
1. Navigate to Community
2. Under Make Alongs, click Clubs
3. Browse the clubs on the Discovery page
4. Use the filters to narrow the list
5. Select a club to view its details
NOTE: Hidden clubs don't appear on the Discovery page. They are by invitation-only.
View Your Clubs
When you host or join more than one club, you can see all of them on the Clubs page.
Create a Club
1. Navigate to Community
2. Under Make Alongs, click Clubs
3. Click Create a Club
4. Enter a name for your club
EXAMPLE: Name your club something that tells people what it offers, like Designer Clubhouse.
5. Select a Privacy Setting
• Open: anyone can join by clicking the link from the Discovery page
• Private: approve people to join after they’ve clicked the link on the Discovery page
• Hidden: an invitation-only club that members join via a host link. This club is not visible on the Discovery page
6. Select a Craft Focus
Knit
Crochet
All Crafts
Business
Other
EXAMPLE: Select All Crafts for a club that welcomes anyone who makes anything.
7. Upload a Cover Photo
8. Enter a Description that tells people what your club is about
EXAMPLE: This is a club for new and experienced designers to share their work.
NOTE: The Craft Focus, Cover Photo, and Description are required.
9. Add Rules and Links (Optional)
a. Enter any Rules you have for your club
b. Add any Links members need, such as a sign-up link for a product club
c. Check the box that requires members to acknowledge your rules
NOTE: When you turn this on, members must acknowledge your rules before they can join.
Finish Creating Your Club
1. Click Create Club
That's it! Your club is ready. Your Club Page lists the host and all members on the right-hand side of the page.
Add Channels to Your Club
Channels (#channel) organize your club conversations by topic. You can add a channel for any subject your members want to chat about.
1. Navigate to your club
2. Click Add Channel
3. Enter a name for the channel
EXAMPLE: In a Designer Clubhouse club for all crafts, you might add a New Designers channel and a Knit Designers channel.
Rename or Delete a Channel
You can rename or delete any channel you add.
NOTE: Organize your channels (coming soon).
Manage Your Club with Host Tools
Use Host Tools to manage your members, update your club details, and archive your club.
Promote Members to Moderators
1. Navigate to your club
2. Click Host Tools
3. Click Manage Members
4. Select a member who has applied to join
5. Promote the member to moderator
NOTE: You can also give a moderator the ability to email your members.
Update Your Club Details
Use Host Tools to update your rules, links, or any other club details.
Archive a Club
If your club has run its course and you want to start a different one, you can archive it from Host Tools.
Send Email Updates to Members
Members can opt in to receive email updates from your club.
As the host, you can email your members once a week with any updates you want to share
Any moderator you give email access to can also send a weekly update
Members who opt-in also receive a digest of activity from all their clubs and Make Alongs
